A special silver anniversary celebration representing the Mateel Community Center’s next step in the rebirth of the great Reggae on the River tradition the still single-day event will feature performances by many of reggae and world music’s most enduring artists for what is sure to be a festival to remember. Limited interior venue parking is still available by advance reservation for $30 per standard size vehicle.

“I realised that young people are influenced by what’s on television through the music they listen to and from what’s in the media. “People like to be entertained so I do my work through singing dancing and entertainment” he says. Mr Bishop Toby Wright John Ellis Keith Millbrook Tala Iasi and Tere Ngaeruaiti started off together as a reggae music cover band. Box Juice’s debut album ne Heart Many Lives was released on Wednesday. “I recognised all the combined talent and realised we could do something special and decided we should make an album” Mr Bishop says. Each of the album’s songs addresses important issues such as smoking alcohol and family violence. ne Heart Many Lives is also the title of the band’s first single which is about the impact of heart disease on men in New Zealand.
