According to a press release from Umunthu Events Reggae Steady Go is a particular event aimed at highlighting the many facets of reggae music. “We would like to show reggae as the music not as part of the Rastafarian religion” reads the statement in part. Celebrated local reggae star Sally Nyundo will host the first series of the show. He says as a reggae musician he felt the need to be a part of such an initiative. “We would like people to understand what reggae music is all about.

At an early age Natty Wailer was obsessed and fascinated with the culture of Rastafari and the music that comes out of its philosophy and life and for this he is still driven today. He feels compelled to write sing and play instruments. He emphasises "It is my life and I will not lose the love for music nor Rastafari. " With his own band The Reggae Vibes he has recorded a CD album entitled "Lifted" that will he hopes reflect his purpose and that is to present the Reggae music and its message to the world's audience. Natty Wailer feels the need to contribute ultimately to world peace through music and culture. He believes that this indigenous music known as Reggae has the ability to bring all cultures and people together in a common way. He plays Cleeres on Friday May 8 at 9pm.

But then you have to understand one thing about Size: He’s the kind of musician who never takes the easy road. Size began making tracks in his home studio at age 16 after getting kicked out of school. He and his partner Krust mixed old reggae and jazz records with jungle beats taking breakbeat culture to new levels of artistry. Size formed Reprazent to play those cuts live a move that some said was impossible. The dynamic team of rapper Dynamite MC and gospel-influenced singer nallee provided a humanist front to the sometimes dizzying onslaught of beats bass and sound effects. A special anniversary edition of “New Forms” was released in England last year and Size decided to re-form the band. The reedited version of the album which features several new songs is being released in the U.
