Put on by Ragga Muffins Productions and Moss Jacobs the festival not only provides hours of jamming down-tempo live music but also features an international food fair and crafts. It is the largest in North America. Growing up in Miami Jacobs was exposed to reggae music early on in his life and said The Ragga Muffins Festival is–hands down–the most fun show he works on all year. "There are so many great artists great people and an overall positive experience" Jacobs said. "I was always attracted to the message content of the music. " The Ragga Muffins festival will make its run down to the Long Beach Arena after two shows at The Catalyst in Santa Cruz and the next day at The Fox Theatre in akland Calif. Abtin Hashemian junior psychology major highly anticipates the shows this weekend.

The group is now led by bassist and musical director Aston “Family Man” Barrett the group’s sole surviving founder and driving musical force who was well known as Bob Marley’s right hand-man during the singer’s lifetime.
