Reggae music from the garden isle Kauai is coming your way on Friday Jan. 30 when The Lambsbread brings its mystic roots sounds to Frog and Peach. The group is touring the West Coast to promote Rise their third studio album which has been getting radio play in Hawaii California Colorado Portugal and France. Recorded in Jamaica and California the songs have a classic reggae vibe but may also appeal to hip hop and dancehall fans.

But other users have sicced Soundsmith on vocals ripped from hit records and that’s where the real fun begins. Although Songsmith delivers what it promises quality is optional. Users guide the program by choosing tempo chord changes and musical styles ranging from jazz to reggae to ’80s pop. The original song is usually rendered unrecognizable and quite often unlistenable. It doesn’t help that the music has a flat tinny quality reminiscent of karaoke or elevator music. For added laughs the creators of some online clips have taken the audio produced by Songsmith and melded it with a song’s original music video.
