Half Pint delivers a stress free ride
Jamaica bserver – May 16, 2008
This track is simply put a wonderful creation one that is reminiscent of the reggae music of old. ne where the sound the words and the instrumentals soothe the heart and capture the mind. It is a sound the traditional reggae music lovers will never be able to get enough of. riginally produced by Beres Hammond and Harmony House Production Just Be Good should bring back memories to the older folk and give young listeners something to appreciate. After all this one is a classic. And if that was not enough Suzie and My Best Friend’s Girl provide the icing on the cake for the lovers rock fans. This icing does in no way cloy the appetite.

The highlight of the festival – the first of its type in Windhoek – was the ‘Tribute to Bob Marley Show’ which was staged in memory of Marley who died in 1981 from cancer at the age of 36. GA_googleFillSlot( “AllAfrica_Story_Inset” );From Monday last week The Warehouse hosted one reggae band each evening as a build up to the Bob Marley Tribute Show which began on Saturday evening and lasted into the wee hours of Sunday. The music and chants of Jamaica filled the air as more than five bands played to a full house. Scores of people from different races and walks of life who included dreadlocked elaborately dressed Rastafarians and others met as one to celebrate the life and immortal music of "The Lion of Judah".

Johns Harbour and the party on the beach previously the Dickenson?s Bay bash proved to be an occasion as attractive to the Antiguans as to the yachties from all around the world. Food stalls offered BBQ chicken spare ribs lobster and hamburgers all served with Johnny Cakes and potato salad. Several bands pumped out the ubiquitous reggae music to the patter of the gathered locals. ‘You havin? a good time mon?’ and we sure were! We then parted company with the Antiqua Race Week fleet and set sail for St. Kitts Nevis St Barts and St Martin ? completing our series of five races and experiencing the differences of each of these unique islands. Sumptuous dinners on wide verandas of the old plantation houses contrasted with beach BBQs and ‘Killer Bee’ cocktails ? and culminated with the final night party in St Martins in a restaurant overlooking the yachts moored in the base. Several of the crews took it on themselves to organise entertainment for the final night and the next day we broke up into groups and singles heading in different directions to pursue new horizons.

GA_googleFillSlot( “AllAfrica_Story_Inset” );The album titled Nyimba Lwakwebaza includes songs like Nkole Ntya liddadi Nanjobe and yagala Kubeeraki. And she intends to put her album on market come next month however she has started selling copies to people who are close to her. The album which was produced by both Henry Kiwuwa at No End studios and Bryan JJ at Dream Studios is a mixture of different music genres from zouk to reggae and some slow R&B. However Nasirumbi says she doesn’t play a specific music style. "When I compose a song I get a tune and then tend to follow it so I’m not specific on the genre of the music I do" she says. "The tune determines the genre so I naturally can do any type of music. "The soft-speaking singer also has more unrecorded songs that she says she will release in the near future.
